Ongoing preparations for landing of international flights at Skardu International Airport have entered into the final stages of completion. According to sources, international flights were scheduled to start from June 1, but due to non-functioning of the refueling system the decision to operate the flights was postponed.
It is now hoped that international flights will start from July. According to sources, all necessary arrangements have been made at the airport, including a separate airport launch for international arrivals and departures. In the first phase, a team of climbers from Nepal will fly from Kathmandu Airport to Skardu, besides China, Qatar, Japan, according to sources. International flights from UAE including Korea, Dubai will also land at Skardu Airport in the last week of this month or early July.
