Newly elected members of Gilgit Baltistan Assembly take oath

Newly elected members of GB Assembly (GBA) took the oath on Wednesday in Gilgit. Today speaker and deputy speaker will be elected by newly elected lawmakers. Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf(PTI) nominated Amjad Zaidi for the post of Speaker while opposition parties PDM nominated Ghulam Muhammad of the PMLN.

There are total 33 seats in GB Assembly, out of 33, 24 is elected directly while 5 seats are reserved for women and 3 for technocrats.

Newly elected GB Assemblymembers take oath

Chief minister will be elected on Friday. According to sources Fathullah Khan and Khalid Khurshid are strong candidate for CM Gilgit Baltistan. There are total 33 seats in GB Assembly, out of 33, 24 is elected directly while 5 seats are reserved for women and 3 for technocrats. PTI have got 23 seats and opposition parties have got 10 seats.
