ISLAMABAD Foreign tourists no more require NOC to visit Gilgit Baltistan Interior Minister . Federal Minister of Interior Choudhry Nisar Ali Khan announced during a press conference here in Islamabad. Federal minister said that NOC requirement is being withdrawn to promote tourism in Gilgit Baltistan. He said that official notification will be added soon. Tourism is the backbone of Gilgit Baltistan’s economy. The foreign tourists generate jobs directly or indirectly to 60% population of Gilgit Baltistan. Few weeks ago the the same ministry had banned foreign tourists to visit Gilgit Baltistan without NOC. The local people of Gilgit Baltistan reacted strongly. The tour operators, hoteliers , youth and general public took it seriously and started protests on social media. The tour operators pressured CM Gilgit Baltistan. They said that the process is too lengthy and no one will wait such a long time to visit GB and it could stop them to visit Gilgit Baltistan.
